The Volksgarten boast an illustrious 180 year history dating back to the days when Johann Strauss or Richard Wagner filled the place with music. Parts of this local spot were destroyed in the Second World War, but brought back to life in 1946 when it became one of most well known venues in Austria thanks to its live entertainment acts. It still belongs today among the list of the best loved entertainment and gastronomy spots in the country. Latest refurbishment of the “Clubdiscothek” in 2006, brought the it up to the highest standards and managed to fulfil the difficult brief of creating a place where parties can live side-by-side with corporate and cultural events. The new contemporary design features 20th century furniture which give the place a unique and stylish flair. The club with the Disco-Garden (complete with an attractive pool setting) showcases a variety of musical genres from 70’s classics, current pop hits to reggae during the week and from house to hip hop at the weekend. In summertime the “Banane” with its romantic Evergreen Garden is popular at the weekend with lovers of the 1950s and 60s music.
